Experiences
I chose this honors seminar to start to learn more about a tough topic. I wanted to be able to talk about death but also learn other culture's views on a topic everyone eventually goes through. The class involved speakers from various parts of the death and dying business, I got to hear from a natural burial land worker, a death doula, and more. Each person in the class had to present on a topic they got randomly assigned, I got euthanasia and assisted suicide. This was a very new topic for me, and I can say I am now educated in all the aspects it entails. In the class I had the opportunity to learn about others' views on death but also was fortunate to learn about aspects of death and dying that helped me mold my own opinion on it. This class impacted me in a way that no other class has. I can say that my own personal opinions have changed and I started to think deeper about the things I was learning in class. The attached images are two assignment in class I did, I added them to show a little bit of how this class helped me. I have real documents planned out and am ready for when my time comes because of this experience.
